Reynaud's vs. Ertythromelalgia?!
Question: Reynaud's vs!. Ertythromelalgia!?
Can someone please tell me the difference between these two diseases!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
Reynaud's phenomenon is an exaggerated response of the blood vessels and nerves to cold, emotion, stress, etc!. (vasomotor response)!. The blood vessels constrict too much, causing pallor, cold fingers, and pain!. It can occur by itself or associated with other diseases such as scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis, drugs, and more!.
Erythromelalgia is associated with either too many platelets (essential thrombocythemia) or red blood cells (polycythemia vera)!. In this case, blood clots form in small blood vessels (microthrombi), causing poor circulation!. This results in redness, burning/pain, and possibly pallor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If I remember right, although both are caused by abnormality of the blood vessel function, Raynaud's often affects the hands while erythromelalgia often affects the feet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
