i didn't know they did this!.!.!.would like to know the answer to this to!.!.!.very interesting questionWww@Answer-Health@Com

Well, when you're asleep your eyes don't always close all the way, so to protect them from any debris, and also to protect the cornea from drying out, they put tape on them!.
My face was paralyzed for a while and my eye would not close all the way so to prevent damage to the cornea I had to tape my eye closed at night!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Mostly so nothing will get into your eyes by accident!. Because you are anesthetized, your eyes may not stay all the way closed!. They don't want any IV fluids or anything else to accidentally spill or get splashed into your eyes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

To prevent accidental damage to the cornea (amongst other things), you can't react in the same manner to protect your eyes because you are anaesthetised!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because your eyes will move and open and it would freak the doctors and staff out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

To keep things from getting in your eyes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
