What happens if you are infected with HIV...?!
Question: What happens if you are infected with HIV!.!.!.!?
and then you get Ebola hemorrhagic fever!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
Answers:
It takes many years for HIV to reduce a person's immune system to a non-functioning/impaired status!. So assuming the person was just living with HIV, and had a normal CD4 count and reduced viral load, their immune systems would react in the same way!.
As far as Ebola is concerned it depends on the strain, how close they were, epidemiologically, from the source/vector, if they had the benefit of intensive care to deal with symptoms!. Not everyone with Ebola dies!. Many do, but it is by no means a 100% fatal viral infection!.
If the HIV+ person had a low CD4 count, it could have a negative effect on the outcome from Ebola (in theory), but I don't know of any specific case studies where this has been looked atWww@Answer-Health@Com
