How do I beat the urge to scratch itchy raw skin?!

i have the same problem and cant resist the urge to rip my skin open!. there is something relaxing about it and it feels good! I have been advised to use calomine lotion as it cools the skin straight away and relieves the itch!. so does aloe vera gel!. try nipping the skin or just changing what ur doing at the time - like jump up and start hoovering or something!. u could try putting bandages on like a support bandage with loads of cream underneath!. only thing is that if you itch then it gets stuck and you have to tear it off!. it does make you more aware that you shouldnt scratch though and if you dont scratch it could clear up!. all easier said than done, I know!Www@Answer-Health@Com

first you should figure out why its itching in the first place!. & get it treated so it will go away!. but for quick problem solve you can ice it, benadryl has a great anit itch product & so does aveno!. but be really careful with scratching, since you've scratched it raw already its really easy to get a bacterial infection!. keeping your nails short and clean help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Firstly find out if you have psoriasis or some other pesky skin inflammation!.
If not, and you have a nervous tic that is causing you to scratch ask your medical practitioner to refer you to a therapist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
