6 year old with fever and headache?!

Question: 6 year old with fever and headache!?
Just started last night!. Is this normal!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It's not unusual for my daughter!. My 5 year old daughter complains of headache whenever she has high fever!.

Sometimes it just tides down after a good dose of antibiotics and paracetamol but sometimes it leads to some complications!.

For my child, complications would be pneumonia (once) or bronchitis (twice)in total for all 5 years!. All with headaches first!.!.!. then headaches & vomitting!.

But ofcourse not all the time it's complications when it comes to fever with headaches!. Don't mean to frighten you!.

What you need to do is try to see what you can do to get rid of the headache!. I would not advise you to keep trying for more than a day!. (If it's severe, you should send your child to a paediatrician immediately!.)

Did your child have enough sleep last night with the fever and all !? Sometimes the headache will go when you let them have a good sleep after a night of bad fever!.

Did he/she eat/drink enough with this fever !? Make sure it's not due to dehydration or lack of food!.

Try giving him/her a gentle soothing massage at the back of the neck and shoulders, front > chest and arms!. That's what I do and my daughter would tell me she feels better!. I'm not sure if it works on your child but mine loves it even after a tiring day at school!.

If you feel the headache is very severe, don't wait, go seek a specialist immediately!. Hope your child get well real soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the fever is over 101, then take child to the doctor!. If fever is greater than 104, take child to the Emergency Room!. It's not normal - but it might just be a virus too!. Let the docs figure it out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to take him to the doctor!. My 4 year old started that way and she had Viral Meningitis!. I wouldn't waste my time here!. Emergency room now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is not normal for a child that age to have a headache!. Take them to the doctor!Www@Answer-Health@Com
