Question: COULD I GET the CHICKEN POX!?
I posted something similar earlier but I mis-worded something!.!.!.
Ok so I hugged my grandpa earlier today!. After, I learned he had been exposed to chicken pox!. (does not have them at this moment, but someone at the doctor's office he went to did) He was wearing long sleeves and pants and I don't believe there was any skin to skin contact!. After the hug, I was not around him at all!. I had the chicken pox vaccination when I was younger, and a tiny bit of chicken pox when I was 6!. Could I get them!? I'm freaking out because I leave for Spain on Wednesday morning, and if I have chicken pox, there's no way I'm allowed on any airplane!. PLEASE HELP!. P!.S!. I'm 16 now!. Do you think I could get them!?!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Chill!. It's MORE likely your Plane will be Delayed by a Snowstorm on your way to Spain- than you are apt to come down with the Pox!.!.!. HOWEVER, if You were "exposed" -and You DID come down with them, it'd be at LEAST a WEEK before you'd start showing "Symptoms"!.!.!. So if You hadn't "planned" on staying in Spain beyond the FIRST week in June, You MIGHT consider packing some extra Underwear- JUST in case!.!.!. Have a nice Trip! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
I don't think you would have caught the chicken pox, if a week as gone by your safe you have not caught them!.
But you still can get chicken pox twice,

Hey relax, I doubt you can get it that easy, it doesn't work that way, plus you already had the vaccine and a tiny sprout in the childhood, tough stress can lower your inmune system rising the risk, be relax, enjoy the anticipation of the tripWww@Answer-Health@Com
I don't think you have it, but there is a two week incubation period with chicken pox, so even if you have it it wont come out for two weeks, so stop worrying and enjoy you holiday!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is highly unlikely that you would get chicken pox from hugging someone who was only exposed to it and isn't actually harboring it in their system!. Chances are your grandpa has acquired immunity from having them when he was younger and you, too, have acquired immunity, both thru the vaccination and the small occurrence when you were 6!. I was vaccinated when I was younger and my brother got them!.!.!.I never got them!. If you're going to continue to freak about it, I would suggest going to a medical clinic and asking them to draw a varicella(medical name for chicken pox) titer which will show you if you are still immune!.
