How do we go about getting a write off for grandpa so he can get insurance for h!

Question: How do we go about getting a write off for grandpa so he can get insurance for his breathing!?
Our grandpa is in pretty bad shape he is 77 he has had a few surgery's for an aneurysm in his brain!. He has another surgery coming up this fall for another aneurysm near his heart!. He suffers from heart disease and COPD!. So as you can probably guess he isn't in the best of health!. He needs help to take a shower help with his medication drove to and from doctors appointments!. The family has had him living with my cousin since Jan he has been in and out of the hospital since!. We are trying to get him on Medicaid he only had medicare which isn't paying no proscription cost or for a family doctor that he needs!. He needs additional medical coverage so my cousin can get him the breathing treatments and oxygen he needs at her home!. We went through job and family services and we need a doctor to write him off that his health isn't good and he needs cared for!. I'm just upset because why should my grandma have to work for his benefits when the man has worked his whole life and he really needs help!. Everything from prescriptions to doctor bills takes more then he brings in!. No way he can work he is so frail he is also very very thin!. Grandpas case worker said he needs a simple note from his doctor to write him off!. I don't know if we can do this through his heart doctor!? Being that he does not have a family right now until he gets insurance!. Does anyone know how this works!? Or has been through this yourself!? What do I do just call his heart doctor and see what they can do for him!? Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks!. Also my cousin is the only one who has the time and room for grandpa she is stay at home mom full time for her newborn until 10 more months her husband gets back from Iraq!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Why doesn't he have medicare part D!? That is the prescription part of medicare = which he is eligible for!. Your family needs to get him set up in that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Call any doctor that has or is treating him and make an appointment to see the doctor!. Explain the situation to the doctor so that you can get help for your grandfather!. If that does not work then call the Attorney Generals office in your city and get the information line--ask them about help!. If he is a veteran--go to the vets hospital for help!. Contact the Center for Aging in your city for help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Medicaid is a state insurance that pays claims after Medicare made payment!. Your grandpa doesn't need a note from a doctor to apply for Medicaid!. He needs to go to the local social security office and apply!. He needs to bring financial information with him to prove that he can't afford paying for his medical care!.
If a social security office is too far, he can also try a local hospital clinic!. Ask for a social worker, they can start the process and point him in the right direction!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
