Question: I have been to England 3 times since 2000, what are the chances i have mad-cow disease!?
Answers:
The population of the UK is around 60 million!. 166 of those people have caught vCJD (the human form of mad cow disease, BSE)!. 3 of them got it from blood transfusions so that leaves 163!. So that's a risk of less than 3 per million!. In people who have lived there their whole lives!. In the UK, there have been around 190 000 cases of BSE in total - that's what those 60 million people were exposed to!. Since 2000 there have been only around 5000 cases and obviously the food chain is much more strictly controlled now!. There have only been two cases of vCJD in Americans who had spent time in the UK, both of them had spent more than 6 months here!.

I would say your chances are pretty small!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have lived here for 50 odd years and I have never known anyone with MCD, except myself on occasions!
No only ever read about it - probably as much chance of being abducted by aliens - and no, that doesn't happen in UK either!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well I've lived in England since 1975 and I havent got it! Theres little to no chance that you'd have mad cow disease!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

unless you are of the bovine species ,you wont have to worry about it Take care !.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
