Answers:
Actually it is not the phlegm that causes asthma it is a narrowing and constriction of your lungs that cause asthma!. But phlegm is a secondary reaction to loosen natural fluids in you lungs!. as we breathe in the air and moisture gets trapped in the lungs and air sacs, if it builds up then we cough it up, but naturally it is like a protective coating inside the hollow organ!. Like the acid in our stomach's, it is there to protect, but if it builds up or backs up we get acid reflux!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was always told it was your body's reaction to fighting illness and foreign materials!. It basically serves the same purpose as mucus in the nose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
