STD: Gonnorhea/Chlamydia question?!

Question: STD: Gonnorhea/Chlamydia question!?
March 2008, I was involved in a acquaintance rape by a friend!. It is now May 2008 (2 months) since the incident, and I tested over and over and NEGATIVE for all STD/HERPES/HIV/HPV screening was also normal!.

I do have two questions, I tested for both chlamydia and gonnorhea the day of the rape (March 22nd) and 11 days after the rape (April 1st)!. I have not experienced any abnormal changes and I had gotten a HPV screening about 2 weeks (April 14th) afterwards which was Negative!.

Was it TOO EARLY to detect gonorrhea and chlamydia at day 1 and day 14!?

Would the HPV screening shown signs of gonnorhea and chlamydia signs in the cervix!?

**Btw, I also went to a follow up with my ob/gyn last week, and the doctor did not detect any signs of anything in my vaginal area**Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It depends on what type of testing they did for chlamydia and gonorrhea --- but the 14 day post exposure test is reliable!.

Postexposure testing for chlamydia/gonorrhea with NAAT can be done as soon as is desired ---there is no need to wait for 48 hours as with culture-based testing!. So 1 day and 14 day post exposure is more than enough time for NAAT and culture-based testing, so you should be fine!. (Culture based testing is more commonly used in the cases of sexual assault)

HPV screening, which I am assuming would be a pap test!?, does not look for chlamydia or gonorrhea, only HPV-related cell changes on the cervix!.!.!.!.!.!.cell changes may not show up at this stage but it is not of major concern!. Most HPV infections clear on their own by 18 months, and if there was a persistent infection it would be caught during your regular (future) pap tests!.

Hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

First I am sorry to hear about what happened to you!!

As for the STD questions you have been screened more than once and should be just fine for them!. However, there is a window period with HIV and what that is, is the time of infection and when your body has built up enough antibodies to show up on the test!. This window period is 30-90 days!. I would ask my doctor to screen me for HIV again!. You are fine with the other conditions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
