Question: I need some help, please!.!.!.!?
My dad has diabetes and he's 50 something, I'm not entirely sure what age he is or what kind of diabetes he has!. He takes insulin!. He's also a pretty heavy alcoholic!. He drinks vodka from when he gets home till he goes to bed which is usually 2pm to 9pm!. This morning he said he felt light headed and that his blood sugar was low!. Than he came home from work at around 9am and took a nap until 2:30pm!. The white parts in his eyes are yellow and he refuses to go to a doctor or a hospital!. He keeps saying that everything will be fine like always!. What does this mean!? Sorry, if the spelling is off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

To set everyone straight, moderate drinking with diabetes is just fine!.
Your Dad is an alcoholic with severe liver damage- yellow eye indicate jaundice!.
I am not sure if they can save him but it is an emergency that he get to the hospital!.

Hi!. My dad also has diabetes!. I can't really help much but i do know this: If you have diabetes you are supposed to stay away from alchohol all together!. I would just take him to the hospital even if he doesnt wanna go!. Better safe then sorry!. :) hopeI could help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Diabetes and alcohol are two bad combinations!.!.!.Your dad really needs to seek some medical attention!. Alcohol can lead to lots of serious complications that can affect your organs!. From what you have said your dad has been an alcoholic for along while!. I don't mean to scare you but his eyes being yellow is not a good sign!. The alcohol could very possibly done damage to the liver!. See if you can't get him to go to see a Dr!. they will want to run test and draw blood!.

Ok,my mom has Type 2 diabetes, which means she wasnt born with it, she was diagnosed with it later in life!. Can I tell you that alcohol is one of the WORST things you can do for diabetes, especially for your liver and kidneys, which are more prone to failure because of diabetes!. If his blood sugar is too low, he can pass out, or even slip into a diabetic coma, and his organs can also start failing and he can die!. I'm not trying to scare you, but I have watched my mom have episodes where he was unresponsive due to low blood sugar and it is not fun!. SO many things in your body are affected by diabetes!. I have heard yellowing of the eyes can be caused by kidney problems, so your dad should go and have a check up! He may need is insulin adjusted!. He should quit with the alcohol and start eating healthy and exercising!. Diabetes is very manageable on your own, but also very deadly if you do nothing about it!.
