Can the human race survive a pandemic such as the bird flu poses.?!

Question: Can the human race survive a pandemic such as the bird flu poses!.!?
A pandemic such as the bird flu can pose, will cause massive death tolls around the world!. Some will say that a pandemic will affect only a small percentage of the world population but I am a pessimist in that regard!.

I believe that the interconnectivity and interdependence, and population of the world is greater than ever before in the entire past (that of course is obvious)!. Because of these factors and interconnectivity we are also at risk of greater consequences from any pandemic!.

Even in years gone by, the effects of pandemics were devastating!. However we are now at risk for exponentially greater death tolls!. Sure we have more technology to cure diseases, but we also have more people to have to try to protect, we can not get any cures out to 6 billion people in time to protect them all (if we can even get any cure at all)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Most pandemic models (based on past pandemics) typically show an infection rate of about 30% and a death rate of 2%!. So that means in the US about 90 million people would get sick and 2 million people would die!. Those are just estimates!. It might be as bad as the 1918 pandemic or a more mild pandemic like the 1957 or 1968!. Personally I think it's going to be more like the 1918!.
It won't take it long for the virus to spread!. In 1918 the virus spread from across the US from east to west in less than 4 weeks!. With the way our world is set up today and the volume of international travel; the virus could potentially infect the entire world within a couple days if not hours!.
Currently the death rate of H5N1 is about 60% according to the WHO!. This means that the virus is killing it's host too fast to travel very far - kind of like ebola or marburg fevers!. Influenza will adapt so it can stay alive, otherwise it will burn itself out!. So basically it's not in the virus' best interest to wipe us out!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Personally, I think the human race will survive!. Sure, if we find a cure we still won't save them all!. But will it kill every single human!? nahWww@Answer-Health@Com

yes there are always those which are immune and/or
people that catch it and barely survive!.!.!.never pretty
but thats the way it is!.

don't worry Christ returns before the last human dies!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, the human race is pretty damn resilient if i must say so myself!.
there are enough people that will either avoid getting infected, or be immune to the disease that the human race will live on!. (our reign of terror will not end that easily, lol)
we may take a lot of losses, but i doubt that a single illness can destroy an entire species!.
though the bird flu does pose a serious threat, it doesn't do any good to worry about it!. plus, it seems america should have plenty of warning before it gets here!. it has to get through like, a few billion chinese or so before it manages to fly on the windshield of a plane to america!. lol!.
ok, maybe not, but i'm trying not to be a fatalist!.
