Nickel allergy?!

Question: Nickel allergy!?
My daughter is having a procedure done in a few weeks where the docs will be placing an implant in her heart!. The implant is made partly of nickel, and we want to make sure she isn't allergic to it before it goes in!.

Can anyone tell me some common things I could use to test her and make sure she doesn't have any reaction to it!? I know that US nickels don't actually have a lot in there, so they won't help, and we can't seem to find any nickel-plated ear rings!.

Any ideas!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Since this is a medical procedure, if there is any real concern about a possible allergy, I would have her tested by the doctors first!. I can understand your concern, since the device is going in her heart!. I would definitely not rely on how much nickel is in cheap jewelry and whether her skin shows a reaction or not!.

My mother is allergic to (in order of sensitivity) nickel, gold, copper, and silver; this has been medically proven and documented in her medal records!. For some reason, she has been able to wear her gold wedding band, A gold Hawaiian ring with her name on it, and two sterling silver rings, but only on her left hand!. She has gotten rashes after 24 hours of trying to wear a ring on her right hand!. She was supposed to go in for a sleep study!. She couldn't go through with it because the electrodes they were attaching to her scalp were made of gold and started to itch right a way!.

What I am trying to say is the different parts of the body may react in different ways, and to really be sure, haver her tested!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

a cheap bracelet or ring will have enough nickel in it to make a diagnosis!. The really inexpensive earrings also have a lot of nickel in them!.

If she turns green, breaks out in a rash, turns really red under the bracelet or ring, it would be the allergy to the nickel!.

I used to just turn green, then started breaking out in rash under the bracelets!. Some of them were so pretty also!. But then too, I am allergic to stainless steel, surgical steel, and most gold products as well!. I can wear pure silver!.

There is a lot of nickel in most watchbands and other jewelry also!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Any earrings that are cheap at a Walmart or Kmart will have nickle in them!. If they do not say nickle free, for sensitive ears, sensitive solutions, sterling silver, or some kind of gold!.!.!.!.they are nickle!. When I put these kind of earrings in my ears, my ears almost immediately get infected!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most cheap jewelry will have a nickel base!. But as with any allergy she may not react the first time exposed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
