Question: Help! My husband is an addict to pain meds!!?
I was hoping to get an answer from an ex addict!. My husband has been taking perkiset or hydrocodean for a few months now and tells me he is trying to quit on his own (ween himself off)!. He has been addicted to much much worse a few years back!. My concern is that he can't do it on his own!. He's been weening for a while now!. I try to help and he says it's his own battle, that I just make it worse by getting upset and snooping around!. When should I really worry!?!? He says he knows what he is doing!. But we have a baby girl coming soon!!! Someone who has been through this or similar please give me some advice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i am a recovering addict!.!.!.I personnaly have never found rehab helpul, in facy I think it is bad because most people there love to talk about getting high!. honestly, the only reason I am sober is because my gf gave me an ultimaton!.!.get sober or were done!. everyone is different though!. what works for me could backfire for ur husband!. addiction is a disease and it can be hard to give an ultimaton but it wirked for me!. maybe check out ratiopnal recovery on the web!. just tread lightly though and loook for signs that an ultimaton is backfiring!.
I can tell u that he is hooked on these drugs and he needs to get off now!! it sounds like he is loving the high he's geeting!. let him knoew that he will die if he doecnt quit!. Ive lost 3 friends to sxuicide(two addicted to opiates, one to amphetamine)!.
One way to possibly get him to quit hard drugs is allow him to smoke marijuan(I know this sounds a little cazy but it helped me alot and know I dont smoke weed!.!.I consider wees an anti addiction drug, mary jane can be addictive of cours but its not as bad as dope!.!.its the lesser of two evils
let hime know the conseqences of using!.!.!.!.he will lose u and then he will die eventually, but not after suffering extrem pain!.!.!.he will meet the devil before he dies and he will pray for death at that point!.
also can u force him to stop going to his dr!. feelgood!. my gf made me stop seeing my dr who was liberal as **** and was prescribing me dope!.
quitting may be the hardest thing he'll ever do and u need to give him motivation and a kivk in thr ***!. spell out the consequence!.

As with any addiction, it has to be his decision, he has to really want to quit!. !. I am an alcoholic, I use to drink a bottle of wild turkey 101 everyday!. I quit when after my son was born, and now I am loving life, there is nothing like having a little one in your life!. You just need to support him, and see what he needs, it may be that things trigger the urge for them, or something in his life!. Try to get him to talk to a Doctor or somebody that is trained to handle this kind of thing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
