HIV is the virus which damages the immune system and leads to AIDS!. Once the immune system is severely damaged, the person's diagnosis would change from HIV to AIDS, and at that point the person would be more susceptible to other infections, such as colds, flu, and pneumonia!. The person whose immune system is damaged would not be able to fight off these other infections!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

HIV and AIDS are very different!. There are different stages of HIV/AIDS; 1- Primary infection (this is when you are first infected with the virus), 2- HIV Asymptomatic (This is when the doctors test your blood for antibodies to the HIV virus and you test positive, but you have no symptoms yet), 3- HIV Symptomatic (now you start showing some signs), 4- AIDS (this is the full blown disease and now the only treatment is to treat the symptoms and increase comfort; technically, when your CD4 count (specific test) falls below 200, you are said to have full blown AIDS- at this point you are extremely sick with most of the diseases/illnesses that people with this disease get)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
