Kinematic's answer is spot on!.!.!.I'd just like to add that sometimes someone that has the flu could then come down with a secondary infection that might need an antibiotic!. For example, the head congestion and thick mucus caused by the flu can lead to a sinus infection (which can be viral or bacterial) or bronchitis!. If the doctor suspects the secondary infection is caused by bacteria, then an antibiotic may be prescribed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the flu is a virus and still have no cure for it but you can take flue shots anitbacterial cant help unless the illness is bacteria in origin and have similar symptoms as the fluWww@Answer-Health@Com
