Question: Anybody ever have a kidney stone!?
I supposenly have one!. I was wondering how you felt before and during it!.

I've had a couple!.
The pain usually starts in the middle of your back!. It's a dull ache!. Once the stone passes out of the kidney into your ureter, it's more of a sharp burning!. If the stone gets stuck, you'll feel pressure and then have the urge to urinate frequently!. This is when you'll most likely feel the most pain!. Sometimes the stones contain crystals!. They look like little shards of glass and are sharp!. This can cause a lot of pain and bleeding!.
When I finally passed mine, it just burned!. It also depends on how big the stone is!.
There really isn't anything that can be done if the stone is under 5mm!. They usually give pain meds and fluids!. If the stone is larger and causing obstruction, they perform surgery and put a stent in (widens the ureters for passage of stone), or lithotripsy where ultra-sonic(ultrasound) waves crush the stones for easier passage!.
Drink lots of water, flush out your kidneys!.
Stay away from dairy for now(most stones are made out of calcium)!. Also, do not drink cranberyy juice!. It contains oxylates which also can cause stones!. (its only good for uti's)!.You should strain your urine, so when you do pass it, your doctor can send it to the lab and they can see for sure what type of stone it is!! Then they can be more specific w/ what to do to prevent them in the future!.

Hi, I had one about 7 years ago!. It began like a sharp pain on my left side!. I understand from others that it can be on ether side as your have tubes going to your bladder on both sides of your body!. I remember feeling like I had to go to the bathroom!. So after getting up and going several times and very little happening, I began to sweat, and the pain increased!. (Just a little aside, I have had a baby and a kidney stone, and I would prefer to have 10 babies, naturally as oppose to having ONE Kidney stone!.) On a scale of 1-10, at the worst my pain was an 8 or a 9!. I began to think I was having a heart attack!. So I was taken to the hospital, where it was determined that I had a Kidney stone!. I was given some kind of pain med and a lot of intravenous fluids, and when I needed to urinate, they gave me a little "basket" to try to catch the stone!. When i did pass it, it looked like a small hard star, with many points, that is what causes the pain!.
Either way, If you are experiencing any sort of sharp pains, you need to get into to see your Dr!.

it went away and then i got a infection
went to doctor they did a xray and found i had kidney stone blocking my utereral
had lipotripsy done and then the pain was terrible when the stone was coming out!.Took the stone 4 weeks to get totally out
the pain was terrible and i had to pee pee every min

Terrible--like worse than giving birth!. Like being ripped on the sides, and vomiting, and fatigue!.
It happened when I went to the restroom--I heard a loud pop and that was the stone, and boy was it painful-I screamed!.
Went to emergency, did exrays and they put an IV in me and I stayed overnight!.
It will repeat itself if you don't get the proper nutrients--is hereditary!.
STAY AWAY FROM SODAS AND ANYTHING CARBONATED!. Drink tons of water in the future!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
