My HIV positive brother ate my carryout from the box!. Then I ate it without knowing!. Can his saliva transmit HIV to me!. I have a nervous habit of biting the skin off in my mouth!.!.!. socould it be transmitted that way!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Any objects that can be exposed to BLOOD can transmit, which includes razors and toothbrushes and the like!.

He needs to be pulled aside and given the RIOT ACT about his irresponsible behavior!. His insensativity is going to pass the virus on to others!

Suggest you get in touch with an HIV/AIDS clinic and speak with them about this matter!. They will probably want to see your brother so that they can educate him better about his attitude toward hygiene!.

In the meantime, I'd go for testing!. Everyone in the family, just incase there has been exposure so that meds can be administered asap!. Sorry about his attitude! I have a girlfriend who caught HIV from a boyfriend!. She's been on coctails for some 7 years now!. She's still ok!. There is hope!
