Question: If a laceration is oozing clear liquid!?
what does that mean!? like literally, you can see it drip from it and it goes through a layer of clothing and dries hard!. i would call it water, no smell or anything, similair to whats in a blister!? gross, but is that normal/healthy!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Any time the skin is broken, it is natural to have some drainage of fluid!. The clear fluid you are seeing is called serous fluid!. It is fluid that normally surrounds your tissue cells!. It is not clear water; it has proteins and other substances in it!. That is why it becomes a firm crust when it dries!. The best thing you can do for your laceration is to clean it well and cover it with a thin layer of antibiotic ointment and a non-stick dressing until it heals!. If it is kept slightly moist (not wet) it will heal faster than if it is dried out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
