my brother went to the hospital and found out he had a kidney infection he also has a fever that goes up and down we have tried to give him fever reducers please help!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like your brother probably has pyelonephritis (kidney infection)!. He needs to be on antibiotics, if hes not, take him to the doctor!. It's very painful, trust me i know!.!.!.!.i am prone to bladder, urinary and kidney infections!.!.!.!.I hope he feels better soon!.!.!.!.give him water, cranberry juice!.!.!.!.if it gets bad!.!.go to the hospital!.!.!.!.!.!.good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I'm assuming he got a prescription for antibiotics when he went to the hospital!. They usually take a couple of days to fully kick in!. If he's not allergic, I'd suggest Advil (ibuprofen), as it will reduce fever and can help with the inflammation which can cause pain!. Also, drinking a lot of water and cranberry juice could help get rid of the infection quicker!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Also, even after he finishes his antibiotics, it could still take weeks or even months for his kidneys to return to normal!. But after a few days of taking them, his fever should go away and his back shouldn't hurt!. Don't let him drink caffeine or alcohol, as these impair kidney function!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I hope he is still in the hospital and on antibiotics!. They have a ice bed they can put you on to get the fever down!. There is no reason he should still be having a fever!. If they are not careful, his kidneys could shut down!. This is an extremely serious situation!. If you are not satisfied with his doctor, I would call in someone else for a second opinion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Didn't they give him some kind of treatment at the hospital!? Make sure he or your parents are making sure he's following the doctor's instruction and taking whatever medications he's been told to take!.

He should be on antibiotics if he has a kidney infection!. If he already is, then it should begin working in a day or so, and the fever should go away!. If he isn't on antibiotics, I'd take him back to the hospital!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
