Get them taken out, yes it will cut down on the infections as you won't have them to get infected!. Liquid Tylenol taste like crap and burns but will help with the pain, cholraseptic logenzes too!. Some people like warm things but I always liked ice!. I know it hurts but you need to keep swallowing because it keeps the tonsils moist and helps wash away germs!. so sorry your sick, feel better soon!. good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

strep throat is an infection of your throat!. it can often start in your tonsils!.

getting your tonsils taken out will decrease the chances of getting strep throat because there's less places for the bacteria to hide out, but the bacteria can still infect the rest of your oral tissues!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's supposed to help with it, but it won't stop it!. I had mine out when I was 14 and I've gotten strep once or twice!. If you're an adult you will have to have a pretty serious case in order to get your doctor to take them out!. The surgery isn't that bad if you do need it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It may not prevent it but if your tonsils have been weakened then it would certainly help to have them removed!. They won't be there to succumb to those infections!. Healthier tissue in your throat will take care of the task!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
