Strange sweet plastiky body smell?!

Question: Strange sweet plastiky body smell!?
I'm 63, healthy and the only medication I take is Foxamax for bones!. About a year ago I started smelling a sweet plastic smell and then realized it was coming from me!. If I hold someone close (like a grandchild) they smell like this for weeks!. I do have a breast prothesis, I drink bottled water often (not the same brand), I take advil for aches and pains, otherwise I'm at a loss!. My new Toshiba smells like this too but I just got it a couple weeks ago - and this smell started about a year ago!. I'm not over weight, no other medication than Fosamas and Advil from time to time!. It can't be theFosamas as I've been taking that for at least 5 yrs!.

I've changed deoderant, lotions, bath gels, laundry soaps and there's this (sickning to me) smell!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello,, I've looked up everything you take, even tried breast prothesis!. I can't find anything you could be taking that could cause this smell!. Oh and that you shouldn't take Flosomax for more than 5 years!. But that wasn't your question!. What I'm wondering,, could it just be your sense of smell!? Do you by any chance have allergies that might confuse your sense of what you actually smell!? For instance, holding your grandchild,, if the smell were indeed on your body,, well the baby would have been washed and changed several times in a week,, so if the smell was coming from you,, it should be gone the next time you saw her!. And your new car smelling this way too!. So what I think is that the smell is coming from you,, just not the way you think!. Something is messing with your sense of smell!. If I were you, I'd go to the doctor and tell them about this!. A good nose spray might fix you right up!. Or you could have sinusitis, and what your actually smelling is the infection itself!. Please, make yourself an appt with an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist and let them take a look!. And good luck ,, hope you smellers gets to working right :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are some metabolic disorders that cause different kinds of odors!.

Maple Syrup Urine Disorder is one where people are unable to process a select few amino acids and they accumulate in the body giving it a sweet smell!.

Diabetics untreated can have sweet breath though I haven't heard of it being through the whole body especially transferring to others!. That normally would smell more fruity, like old apples!.

You seem to be in good health for your age, but definitely check with your doctor on this!. When it's getting to the point where others are being affected, it is time to check it out!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
