How do I get a Patient Advocate when I go to have pre-op and surgery?!

Question: How do I get a Patient Advocate when I go to have pre-op and surgery!?
I'll be having surgery in a few months and I've had bad experiences with Versed used for anesthesia!. I want to have a patient advocate with me at all times to make SURE that I don't get this poison injected into my IV every again!.
I have it written all over my medical records that I'm allergic to it and have had a terrible, paradoxical reaction to it!. I also wear a medic alert bracelet and when I'm in a hospital, a red allergy alert bracelet!. Also, I always state in huge letters in red pen all over consent forms "NO VERSED under ANY circumstances!." You would think this would be sufficient to the average moron that I can't take this drug, nor do I want it!.!.!.yes, to everyone but the medical profession!. They seem to think that if you came in for a hangnail that they need to pump you full of Versed so you don't sue them, due to memory loss!.
Any suggestions on how I could have someone with me at all times so this doesn't happen!?!.!.!.!.!.!.AGAINWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
If it's clearly stated in your records that you can't have it, you will be given a red allergy alert bracelet on admission!.
No medical professional will give you medication you are not permitted to have!. When you have your pre-op appointment, they will also put that information on the anesthetist's report and on the day of surgery, the anesthesist will come around to talk to you personally!. It won't happen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nurses are patient advocates!.!.!.

You should remind your scrub nurses and your circulating nurses about your allergies, i believe you have a right to request to your doctors to have someone you know inside the OR so you can feel secured and calm during surgery!.!.

best of luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i honeslty dont think they would give it to you if it is in your advance directive!. you could sue them if they did give to you when you told them that you did not want it!. a registered nurse is a good patient advocate and he or she would make sure that it is not given to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
