Sorry to hear at so young an age, that you are suffering with arthritis!.

My father has identified cheese as being a real problem for him as he can be left virtually unable to move within 6 - 12 hours after eating it and it can take a couple of days to right itself!.

In terms of food affecting you, the only way to try and identify the problem foods, if there are any, would be to keep a RECORD of what your eating on a daily basis along with how your arthritis is on a daily basis!. If foods are a problem then hopefully by doing this you could make a connection between items eaten and your suffering!.

All the best to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The jury is still out on this a lot of people avoid citrus fruits(inc tomatoes), again some take a hard line and avoid any food with starch! However a word of warning as with any illness it is necessary to maintain a healthy balanced diet and you should always speak to you own GP before undertaking any restrictive dieting regime!. However one thing that I know is an almost immediate trigger for me is coffee!. if you are in Britain try ARC website the arthritis campaigns also have pages in the US etc

Some people believe that eating foods in the cabbage/broccoli family will worsen arthritis!. I'm not so sure about that!. That family is one of the HEALTHIEST food groups around!. But there are studies that show that taking linolenic acid (found in flaxseed oil) and Omega 3 (found in fish oil) will help to reduce the pain and infalammation of arthritis!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're quite right - it isn't fair!. Rheumatoid arthritis is painful and disfiguring!.

I don't know how effective special diets are, but a friend with the complaint excluded food containing gluten from her diet - eating rice cakes and such!. I cannot honestly say that I noticed any difference in her condition!. Sorry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
