Question about hepatitis C.?!

Question: Question about hepatitis C!.!?
Diagnosed with hepatitis C today!. I have not had sex with anyone in almost 3 years!. I have never shot up drugs, not once in my entire life!. I have never had a blood transfusion!. The only explanation would be from my doctor's office, having blood drawn, or an injection; or from having dental work done!? Does anyone have any advice of how I could possibly figure out if I contracted Hepatitis C from the dentist or doctor!? Need some help, thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am sorry I got a thumbs-down, I was only trying to help!. I did not say you are being selfish!. I think it's good that you want to help others avoid the problems you ran into!. In fact, I'm very glad that you found out you can have a healthy, happy life with Hep-C!.!.!.!.I would be very interested in hearing what your treatment plan (or maintenance plan) is, since my friend who I mentioned in my answer never got a clear answer from his doc about what to do!. I would love for him to be able to feel better, even though he is at least maintaining his current level of energy, etc!. Thanks, ClaireWww@Answer-Health@Com

Understand this!.!.Hepatitis C is NOT an STD!.!.there is only a 5% sexual transmittion factor for HCV and that is some rough sex!.!.must be Blood 2 Blood

It really matters not how you got it just that you do NOT ignore it!. It is called the 'silent killer' because you could go through life not having any symptoms!.Be glad it was found!.

RISK FACTORS
You may have been exposed to Hepatitis C and should get tested if you have :

- Received blood, blood products and/or organs prior to 1992
- Shared items to inject or snort drugs
- Received kidney dialysis treatment
- Born to a hepatitis C positive mother
- Needle stick exposure
- Contaminated tattoo needles and ink, body piercing equipment
- Had sexual activity that involves contact with blood
- Veterans (especially Vietnam War Veterans- 65%)
- Shared personal care items with an infected person (toothbrushes, razors, etc!.)

My sister was diagnosed with Hep C and they said she had probably had it for 20 years or more when she was diagnosed!. She had no symptoms and it was found in a routine test she had after she divorced!. She is a nurse so she could have got it through a needle stick or blood exposure and she had also had several blood transfusions!. We will never know for sure!. She took treatment for it for a year and now shows no sign of the disease!. I don't know how you will be able to figure out where you contracted it but I wish you the very best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

have you ever accidently used someonelse's toothbrush or razor!? think back and try to remember"if" you ever drank water that might have been contaminated!. go get a second opinion; and another test to make sure!. sometimes the lab makes mistakes!. god bless--good luck:Www@Answer-Health@Com

Bayla (an awesome Hep c advocate & educator) is absolutely right! Hep c is not a sexually transmitted disease!. It is very difficult to transmit sexually in stable, monogamous relationships!.
Also, you may have had HCV (Hep c) for many years!. Many people don't know how they got it!.
I run a hep c support group and many of the newcomers wrack their brains trying to figure out how they got it!. It doesn't matter how you got it; what matters is what you do from this day forward!.
You're right about treatment and living a normal life!. My advice is to learn everything about it that you can and get into a support group!. I learned more from my support group than I did from any doctor!. BTW, I cleared HCV on treatment 8 years ago!. Best wishes to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
