Don't listen to the answers given by either of the above posters as their answers are seemingly well intentioned but they do not have enough information to give you an accurate answer!.

The biggest determining factor to decide whether your pre-existing condition will be covered (or if you will even be accepted onto the Aetna plan) is if you are applying for an individual plan or a group plan (also there are some differences from state to state)!.

Generally speaking if you are applying for an individual plan then you will be declined unless you are HIPAA eligible (if you are HIPAA eligible then your cancer will be covered immediately) or your cancer is 2 or more years in your past!.

Generally speaking if you are applying for a group plan then your cancer will be covered immediately as long as you have had continuous health insurance coverage for the 6 months prior to joining the plan!. If you have not had continuous coverage prior to joining the plan then you will be accepted onto the plan but there will be no coverage for your cancer for the first 12 months!.

Be sure that you do your research on this issue, compare plans as each company handles things a little differently, and then speak with a qualified professional experienced with health benefits in your state!.

Here is some more information on pre-existing conditions and how they are treated in health insurance plans:Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can't help with aetna, each insurance is different!. But if they have a pre-existing clause, they won't cover you!. You need to read that area or check with the person in charge of insurance!. Some will cover you after a year, some after 2 years and some not at all!. My husband had cancer and he couldn't get coverage until this year!. He has been cancer-free for 12 years, so it doesn't have to be listed!. So either check with whomever is in charge of insurance where you work or call customer service and ask them what is covered!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They would definitely charge you more, IF they would cover you at all!. You probably should contact your local county hospital system, to see if you are eligibe for help from them!. Good luck!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
