Hey JellyK, yes it is sexally transmitted or skin to skin contact, but that doesn't mean he has multiple sexual partners b/c you can get it from towels and so on as well!. Alot of doctors dont treat it because it will go away on its own usually 6-8 weeks, sometime it can last for a year!. Here you can find some home remedy treatment options for the lesions, but no way to really prevent it if you have already been exposed!.

It really isn't a big deal or dangerous though, just cosmetically looks bad I guess!. Take care!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Molluscum contagiosum is a common skin disease caused by a virus which affects the top layers of the skin!. The name molluscum contagiosum implies that the virus develops growths that are easily spread by skin contact!. Similar to warts, this virus belongs to the poxvirus family and enters the skin through small breaks of hair follicles!. It does not affect any internal organs!. Because they can spread by skin-to-skin contact, molluscum are usually found in areas of skin that touch each other such as the folds in the arm or the groin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
