Is it true that Mild Epilepsy can cause learning deficiency?!


Question: Is it true that Mild Epilepsy can cause learning deficiency!?
I have a friend in school who has mild epilepsy!. She has undergone a few epilepsy attacks when she was in primary school!. However, she has suffered a more serious attack in the last past few days!. (It had gone for 6 hours!.) She never concentrates in class, daydreams constatly and isn't a very bright person!. (I'm just curious!.!.!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not mild epilepsy, that can never cause that sort of brain damage!. But, if you are saying that your friend was literally seizing (convulsing) for six hours STRAIGHT, yes, that could cause some signifigant brain damage!. It sounds more like your friend is having Petit Mal seizures, though, also known as absent seizures!. That is when the person apprears to be daydreaming for a period of time when in reality they are having a seizure, but you can't tell!. There are medications that most people respond to and can work so well that they will never have seizures, petit or grand mal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

She could live a relatively normal life is she was on medication (Dylantin)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
