I only know the stats for the US and the UK, but in the UK about 1 in 8 women have genital herpes, so it is half as commonas in the US!. Also, in the UK genital herpes is more likely to be caused by the 'oral herpes' virus hsv-1 than it is to be caused by hsv-2 - about 73% of genital herpes cases in the UK are caused by hsv-1!.
Even within the US, herpes infection levels vary among different demographics!. While 25% of women have hsv-2 on average, among black american women that is more like 55%!.

BOTH!.!.!.!.my best friend just found out she had it cuz her husband cheated on her and brought it home!.!.!.isn't that nice!?! But what we did find out is that 1 out of every 5 people have it!.!.!.and that it can lay dormant for quite some time!.!.!.so a lot of people are carrying it and have no idea!.
