Pain and bumps in armpit?!

Question: Pain and bumps in armpit!?
I am 30 years old, walk with crutches, and never had soreness as well as bumps anywhere on my skin until this year started!. I am experiencing soreness as well as bumps in my left armpit!. My doctor says they are just boils and need to be drained, and she wouldn't even do it! Just told me to have my plastic surgeon do it, since I have to see him this week for a follow up on a 2 years gone breast reduction!. In the mean time, she gave me medicated powder, but they seem to be getting worse!. What can I do til I see my surgeon!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like a case of hidradenitis suppurative, a chronic condition characterized by swollen, painful, inflamed boil-like abscess/lesions in the armpits, groin, and other parts of the body that contain apocrine glands!. It can occur sporadically, and can be a recurring case!. Flare-ups may be triggered by stress, perspiration, hormonal changes (such as monthly cycles in women), humid heat, and clothing friction!. In the mean time, here are some preventive measures to take to lessen the inflammation!. 1) DO NOT WEAR DEODORANT, chemicals in your deodorant may be the triggers/irritants causing your blocked apocrine glands to swell!. 2) Do not add pressure on the inflamed area, i!.e!. if you can avoid using your crutches let's say a wheel chair before your deadline to the surgeon, that would be a good idea!. 3) Drink lots of clear fluids and take herbal antibiotics such as turmeric pills or a tablespoon of turmeric powder a day-it has very effective and well researched anti-inflammatory properties in reduce swelling!. 4) when taking a shower, advise warm water and for baths add sea salts!. Hope that helps, and good luck on your day of surgery!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have been exactly where you are at!. The pain is so bad, you can't sleep on your side!. I had a tendency to get these for years, but my problems went away after a breast reduction!. Has it come to a head or is it deep under the skin!? It may be an infected lymph node!. (that is what I used to get)!. You CAN have the doctor drain them or treat them with antibiotics!. I would choose the antibiotics!. It always worked and they did go away!. For now, all you can do is prop pillows under your arms!. As for your doctor, I would consider looking for another!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
