I have a hyadel(sp!?) hernia that feels similar to this!. I had a procedure done where they used a small camera to view and stretch my esophagus!. They found some kind of "ring" (I can't think of the name) and said that could have been causing the pain!. I rarely have it now since they stretched my esophagus!. With the coughing, it sounds like it could also be a sign of GERD!.

One home remedy that always works for me when I get that pain is to drink a can of coke!. I don't know why it works, but it has to be a can!. Alka seltzer helps sometimes, too!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

no, asthma is a swelling of the airways that makes you feel wheezy and unable to breathe!. Asthma or bronchitis would be troubling your chest not your throat!. You've probably just got a sore throat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
