Question: Scared of getting shots at the doctor!.!?
im getting tetinus and meningitus shot!.!.!.i know ur arm is sore after from the tetinus, but im not worried about that!. its the first needle pinch!.!.i know im acting like a baby, sorry lol, im a guy too!.!.!. but any advice!? that my big fear kind of!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, I'm a nurse, and I HATE getting shots!. When I was younger, I found that it would help to be sitting down (you usually are), and don't watch it!! And if the nurse tries to be "nice" and count to 3 or tell you when she's doing it, ask her not to!.!.!.!.!.I find when it happens without warning, it's usually not as bad!. A distraction helps, too, like talking to a friend, or talking to the nurse!.!.!.!.!.!.!.need a topic starter!?!? Make sure she knows her stuff!?!? What is this vaccine for!? How common is this illness!? Will I need another in my lifetime!? Etc!.!.!.!.!.!.just things to keep your mind off of it!

Practice some relaxation exercises!. That will shift your attention away from the skin prick and make everything easier!. I like to think of skiing in the rockies or palm trees in a breeze at a tropical beach!. It is no big deal, but it is a natural flight/fight response to pain!. But it is such a short and slight mini-momment, that you will probably be surprised when it's all over!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I have a huge fear of needles and my mom always tells me to look away but then I always fear i'm going to jerk my arm and get severly hurt so i just breath and relax myself, it takes me a few minutes to do so but it really helps meWww@Answer-Health@Com
i had problems will needles since i was little!. my eye was infected with some kind of disease and i had to get shots in my eye! ouch any who just think of other things and don't watch the needle!. Turn away! lol best of luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
i get scared of shots sometimes too but really they are not that bad!. When you are getting the shot try to think about something else and keep your mind off of getting the shot, that always works for meWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'm scared of shots too! I hate needles! -shivers- I've already had my tetanus shot!. It's not that bad!. If you keep moving your arm after you get the shot it won't get as numb or at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
