My dog has BAD skin problems HELP!Open sores oozing etc.?!

Question: My dog has BAD skin problems HELP!Open sores oozing etc!.!?
We have taken our dog to 3 vets none of them seem to know what is wrong with him!.He has open sores on his legs mostly!.They will ooze and bleed and they first come up as a bump and then seem to bust open!.We have tried benadryl ,steroids, changing his food (no dyes)!. He has to have antibiotics a lot because of secondary infections!.It seems to be worse in the summer!.It is getting VERY expensive and I feel the Vets are taking advantage of us because someone should know by now what the problem is!.One of them said it could be the soil!.We moved him around in the yard and still he has problems!.He only stays out during the day when we're gone!.Any help would be nice and much appriciated!.Thanks in advance!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Is your dog licking those legs a lot, because there is a condition where dogs habitually lick and create the sores (acral lick dermatitis) and the treatment is to stop them from licking with bad tasting liquid applications from vet and perhaps a cone-shaped collar so they can't get to that spot!.

I am also wondering whether it could be coming from a parasite, such as sarcoptic mange (canine scabies)!. Ask your vet to take a skin biopsy or let you try some medicine for it to see if it helps!.

My mother's dogs got something on their legs and the vet gave her some solution with insecticide that killed it!. It was very potent and was milky and stunk, but it worked wonders!. Ask the vet to try something like that!.

Also, maybe you could take a photo of the sores and ask a vet online (see links below)!. SEE WEBSITES BELOW that have some good information!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

sounds like food allergies!. do you feed your dog human food!? if so STOP! also, you should put one of those round discs around his head so he doesnt lick or bite on the wounds as they might cause infections or prolong the healing process!. its probably worse in the summer because of the humidity!. you have to keep the wounds as dry as possible for them to heal properly!. stop with the benadryl!. that's not good for dogs!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I wouldn't leave him in grass or soil, he must be allergic, or he could have been bitten by a bug and his body's response was an allergic response!.!.!.perhaps try to leave him indoors for awhile and see what happens!. Was he tested for lyme disease!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Seek out a specialist, a vet that specialises in allergies in dogs!. You have spent so much already so one more go with a specialist to get the right diagnosis seems like the next step!. Maybe contact your local RSCPA or similar animal protection society for advice of the best specialists!. I had to give a puppy away because she suffered from grass allergies and we could not contain her out of our yard, she is now happy living by a pool on the beachfront!. One things for sure, he is suffering and not enjoying a happy life as is!. Best of luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Their is a type of mange they call red mange!. It is hereditary so its not contagious!. If you took your dog to 3 diff vets, surely one of them would have done tests to see if your dog had that type of mange!. My cousins Pitbull has this type of mange!. There is a brand of shampoo called 'Mane and Tail'!. Try the MEDICATED Mane and Tail!. Bathe your dog twice a week for a couple of weeks and see if that helps!. Brush him every day!. Be extra careful where the wounds are!. If your dogs stays in a yard, check for weeds and insects also!. If you keep the grass cut short, it controls the weeds somewhat!. If you keep the grass watered it helps control the fleas and ticks also!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

my cat has the same thing ! the vet told us she has exzema! and i guess because she sratches it excessively that it gets infected!.!. for the sores we used some over the counter detersive antibacterial skin cleanser containing chlorhexidine!.!. you can get it at any drugstore!. im not sure if your dog has the same thing but the open sores sound really familiar !. if it is exzema believe it or not when the sores were healed we used baby oil on her fur and because the skin was conditioned the sores never came back!.!.!. i hope this helps a littleWww@Answer-Health@Com
