Can I put any topical acne treatments on while I'm on accutane?!

Question: Can I put any topical acne treatments on while I'm on accutane!?
I'm really red and am scarring and breaking out pretty bad!. My sister got me this Murad acne stuff that comes with a cleanser, salicylic acid gel, toner and moisturizer!. I started using that and I peeled a little!. Then I started taking accutane while still using the topical stuff and started peeling like crazy!. Like, thick dead pieces of skin would come off but only where the red areas/scarring is!. Sometimes it would bleed too!. It's horrible!

I dont know what to do!. I know I'm supposed to moisturize it but with what!? Am I not supposed to put topical treatments while on accutane!?

Should I just wear moisturizer!? And make up!? I have Kiehl's Blue Herbal Moisturizer I like using that in the day because it doesnt make my face oily and is supposed to help my acne!. Then I'm gonna stop using the salicylic gel and just use moisturizer at night!. Also my dermatologist gave me Aquaphor, do i put that on my face or just my lips!? Im afraid of it clogging my pores!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Don't use any acne-fighting cleansers or acne-fighting moisturizers while on Accutane!. You should be using only facial washes for very sensitive skin!. Baby shampoo/wash is actually an ideal choice (and also cheap)!. Nothing is more gentle, and it will not clog your pores!. The oiliness on your face will go away quickly as you continue with Accutane!.

You can use the Aquaphor on your lips!. A moisturizer like Cetaphil is ideal for the skin!. Do not use the Kieh'ls while on Accutane!. Using anything with salicylic acid, glycolic acid, alcohol, or benzoyl peroxide will just irritate your skin more and make it more red!. Your skin should not be bleeding while on Accutane -- this is is a sign that you are over-treating it and/or scrubbing it or washing it too harshly!.

Eventually, as your skin dries out, you will need to switch to a moisturizing wash like Dove for Sensitive Skin for your face (as a replacement for the baby wash/shampoo)!.

Anything that burns your skin when you apply it -- you shouldn't use it while on Accutane!. Your skin is very fragile and sensitive while on Accutane!. Your complexion will continue to look irritated and aggravated until you start using a very gentle cleansing regimen (like baby wash followed by Cetaphil moisturizer)!. You can use an oil-free make-up for sensitive skin while on Accutane if you choose!. A mineral powder that provides natural SPF is a good choice as these are usually non-irritating!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have the same problem as you do!. I started going to a doctor to get advice on it!. he said products such as cleansers and moisturizers just dry your skin out and make it worse!. I jus a special kind of cream and it seems to be working!. so, I would recommend a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey!.!.!.I was on Accutane twice and at first it does make your skin break out more but after a couple months it's completely gone and looks amazing!. It definitely sucks that you break out more in the beginning, but no, you shouldn't use topical medications!. Your skin gets incredibly dry already while on Accutane and topical medications just make it even more dry, as you've obviously already experienced!. Just use moisturizer (I like Cetaphil or Aveeno Calming Moisturizer) and don't forget to use Aquaphor on your lips (don't use on your face!.!.!.it's too greasy)! Don't worry!.!.!.by the end of it your skin will be perfect!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like this is a common problem with murad!. Stop using it!. ASAP!. http://www!.infomercialscams!.com/scams/mu!.!.!.
It's the salicylic acid, by the way!. It's a minor acid peel, add that to the acutane which is gonna cause you to be VERY sensitive to the sun, and burn easily - you've got yourself a fun little you bake!. No good!. No good at all!. Get youself a good sunblock, use daily!. And, yeah, moisturizer is a good idea too!. And, check with your doc - let the derm know what you're using and see if (s)he has any suggestions!. If you're on acutane they have to follow you pretty close with labs for your liver anyway, so, should be seein' him/her pretty soon, right!?
Good luck!. Hope things clear up soon!.

PS - if the doc gave ya aquaphor - probably a good idea to use it, wouldn't worry about it clogging your pores!. It does only go on your lips!. A skin moisturizer like cetaphil lotion or better still cream would be a good idea!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
