1!. how long did the operation take
2!.where u asleep or awake
3!.if they put u to sleep how did they put you to sleep
4!. how long did you stay in hospital
5!. did they give you any needles or hook you to a machine after it
6!.how bad was the scar after it
7!. did ur boob smaller after the operation or did it stay the same

My lumpectomy was on the right side, it was a 2!.1 cm lump - which is fairly small!.
1!. the operation was about 1 1/2 hours
2!. asleep
3!. general anesthesia - through an IV
4!. didn't stay overnight!. it was an outpatient surgery!. the surgery was early in the morning - at about 8:30 am and I was home and in my own bed by 6:00 that evening
5!. before the surgery you are put on an IV and given saline solution for fluids!. you are also given a medicine to relax you thru this same IV!. additionally you are given your anesthesia to put you to sleep during this procedure thru the same IV!. After the surgery they remove the IV!.
6!. the scar from the lumpectomy disappeared over time!. the doctor did the incision right around my areola!.
7!. slightly smaller!. but no big deal!.
8!. yes, there are stiches around the incision, but these dissolve and disappear within a couple of weeks as well, as you healWww@Answer-Health@Com
