Answers:
Yes, it is called aspiration and it can lead to aspiration pneumonia!. Yes, you should be worried because it can be fatal!. Try to cough it up and if you start having increased pain when you take a deep breath in then you need to see a doctor as soon as possible to get a chest x-ray!. If you get a fever within the next 24 hours then you need to see a doctor anyway!. Hope that helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you can get food stuck in your lungs, but i don't know how you'd be able to tell!. your chest could just be hurting from coughing!. usually you start coughing immediately when it goes down the wrong pipe!. however, if you really think you inhaled it, you might want to have it looked at!. food in your lungs can be harmful and cause medical problems like asthma or worse, especially since its chicken salad cuz that'll go bad!. it can be removed if it is in your lungs

i remember hearing a story in school about a little boy who choked on a carrot and thought he coughed it all up!. but a small piece went down into his lungs where he couldn't feel it!. a short while later he developed asthma, and eventually they found that the cause was that little piece of carrot still in his lung!. they removed it and he was fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, food normally goes down the esophagus!. But if it goes down the trachea or "wind pipe", you choke!. Normally it can't get all the way into the lungs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
