Renal check is a blood test,related to kidney functions ,serum level of creatinine or blood urea Nitrogen(BUN) are measured as an easy screening procedure!.
IVP is Intra-Venous-Pyelography , a special type of X-Ray designed to study kidneys,bladder and ureters(the tubes which carries urine from kidneys to bladder )!.
Procedure is performed at radiology department,
You will need to urinate immediately before procedure!.
A vein will be assesed in the arm and Iodine based contrast dye will be injected!.A series of X-Ray images are taken at different time intervals!.
You have to remain still during procedure which may take one hour!.
A compression device may be used!.
At the end of the procedure you will again be asked to urinate to see final emptying of bladder!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
