Transmitting genital herpes?!

Question: Transmitting genital herpes!?
I have genital herpes (HSV1 on my genitals) I'm starting to date a guy who has HSV1 (oral) but has never had a break out!. Can he give me HSV1 on my mouth if we kiss and he doesn't have an outbreak!? I'm on Acylovir and we'll have protected sex but can he still give me oral sex!? We both have the same virus there so its safe right!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It is very very unlikely (impossible!?) to get the same virus that you already have!. Sometimes, if a person is having an initial outbreak, they can re-infect themselves!. But once your body has built up antibodies, it is almost impossible!.

You should know, by the way, that condoms have not been found to be effective in reducing herpes transmission from women to men!.

Even if he didn't have oral herpes, as long as you avoid any sexual contact when you are having an outbreak (and that's important - no sex during outbreaks), then your likelihood of giving him genital herpes is quite low - perhaps 2% per year!.

I've put links to
a) my fave herpes info site
b) the study regarding condom use and herpes
c) the study regarding genital herpes transmission!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The both of you can transmit the disease even though one has it of the mouth and one has it of the genital area!. Its best and always said if you have or think your having an outbreak to refrain from sexual activity, but some show no signs!. Its best to just continue medication to keep the virus suppressed and under control!. If the both of you are positive for herpes then it wouldnt hurt because both already have he disease!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some people on here really need to get a life!. This is not the time for childish immature attitudes!. Go back to middle school if you want to act like that!.

And to the person asking the question!. If you have HSV1, you could potentionally get it anywhere!. Have him and you both get on valtrax!. You could have oral sex, make sure he doesnt have any sores on his lips!. You should be alright!. If you really want to be safe, you can get a dental dam or fashion your own!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you both have the same thing then you cant get it AGAIN!. You can get that **** anywhere, go to a doctor or something you idiot!. Wtf!. PEACE >:[Www@Answer-Health@Com
