When is it time to be concerned about an insect bite?!

Question: When is it time to be concerned about an insect bite!?
I got an insect bite on my leg a few days ago!. It was just a small bump and had (TMI) a little pus leakage!. It's not too itchy, just a little off and on!. Now it's pretty red!. I have no idea what bit me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My husband had a spider bite, and the doc told him to draw an outline around the bite area with a Sharpie!. If the bite area shrunk inside the outline, great!. But if it spread outside the original outline (or got more icky purple than it was), we were supposed to come back!. Fortunately, it shrunk!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try some warm salt soaks to help get rid of any infection and put a bandage on with some antibiotic ointment afterward!. If it gets any worse, see a doctor!. The itching could be from an infection from the bite or from the inflammation!. You could try a little benadryl for the itching or some calamine lotion for itching and oozing, but if it doesn't get better and the redness spreads, see a doctor!. If it is a spider bite, it could be more serious!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
