I am sorry that you are having this problem!. If you want to find out more information on your condition, you can do a search for THROMBOCYTOPENIA!.

It is really best that you call your doctor's office to ask what the medicine was that they mentioned to you, because he will know which one he/she had in mind, and the doctor usually has a nurse who is able to answer a lot of your questions or could look on your chart to see what the name of the medicine was that he was considering!.

There are several treatments for thrombocytopenia including corticosteroids to suppress the body's immune system from attacking the platelets as something foreign to the body, intravenous immunoglobulin, blood transfusions and plasma exchange!. A recently developed drug called ELTROBOPAG (aka PROMACTA in the US ) is also used, and it works by stimulating the bone marrow to produce more cells that become platelets!. Some of the side effects of this drug
include dry mouth, nausea, headaches, diarrhea!.

There are many causes of thrombocytopenia, including such things as autoimmune diseases such as lupus, certain medications, bacterial and viral infections, an enlarged spleen harboring too many platelets, pregnancy, and a condition where the bones do not produce enough platelets!.

Below are some websites which might be helpful to get more information!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

goto a health food store and buy the best calcium, magnesium, and fish oil pills or cod-liver oil that you can find!.
The calcium helps your heart's contractions, the magnesium helps w/ the relaxation of your heart, and the fish oil pills are Omega-3 fatty acids that thin the blood!.
Also, get some potassium (blood coagulator/ thickens the blood)!.
If you can't get to a health food store, get the finest pieces of fish and lightly steam it(or even eat it raw! Like Sashimi, AKA Japanese raw fish, used in sushi!) for the fish oil;
get bananas, dates, prunes, OJ, oranges, or green tea for the Potassium!.
Also, eat healthier foods, less junk food, no soda, no caffeine, or no alcohol!.

Check out these websites for more info!.
All the best to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
