A disease is an abnormal condition of an organism that impairs bodily functions, associated with specific symptoms and signs!.
In human beings,"disease" is often used more broadly to refer to any condition that causes extreme pain, dysfunction, distress, social problems, and/or death to the person afflicted, or similar problems for those in contact with the person!. In this broader sense, it sometimes includes injuries, disabilities, disorders, syndromes, infections, isolated symptoms, deviant behaviors, and atypical variations of structure and function, while in other contexts and for other purposes these may be considered distinguishable categories!.
Cancer (medical term: malignant neoplasm) is a class of diseases in which a group of cells display the traits of uncontrolled growth (growth and division beyond the normal limits), invasion (intrusion on and destruction of adjacent tissues), and sometimes metastasis (spread to other locations in the body via lymph or blood)!. These three malignant properties of cancers differentiate them from benign tumors, which are self-limited, do not invade or metastasize!. Most cancers form a tumor but some, like leukemia, do not!.
Multiple (Latin: multus= many) having many parts; numerous!.
Dissociative identity disorder, for people with multiple personalities, sometimes called "multiples"!.
Multiple birth, because having twins is sometimes called having "multiples"!.
Chronic- (Greek: chronos= time) Lingering; lasting; opposed to acute!. In medicine, a chronic disease is a disease that is long-lasting or recurrent!. The term chronic describes the course of the disease, or its rate of onset and development!. A chronic course is distinguished from a recurrent course; recurrent diseases relapse repeatedly, with periods of remission in between!. As an adjective, chronic can refer to a persistent and lasting medical condition!. Chronicity is usually applied to a condition that lasts more than three months!.
Syndrome- In medicine and psychology, the term syndrome refers to the association of several clinically recognizable features, signs (discovered by a physician), symptoms (reported by the patient), phenomena or characteristics that often occur together, so that the presence of one feature alerts the physician to the presence of the others!. In recent decades the term has been used outside of medicine to refer to a combination of phenomena seen in association!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
