Is ricketts curable ?!

Question: Is ricketts curable !?
If the baby is one year and and suffering with Ricketts , is it curable !?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes it is curable!. It is a condition caused by nutritional deficiencies!. Once the child begins to get a balanced diet with enough vitamins and minerals it will start to recover!. The child's care giver should work with a MD and do follow up blood work to make sure the child is getting what it needs in his/her diet and treatment!.

Ricketts is due to a calcium deficiency!. It can also be due to a Vitamin D deficiency because your body needs vitamin D to actually use calcium!.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that breastfeeding/formula as the sole source of intake for a child up until 6 months!. Breastfeeding should continue for a minimum of 12 months total AND the child must receive vitamin D supplementation!. I know a lot of people (and still some doctors) say that breast milk is adequate nutrition alone!. It is great for a child in lots of ways but AAP still recommends breastmilk + vitamin D because they found that some children on breast milk alone still got ricketts due to inadequate vitamin D!.

Bottom line- it is a nutritional deficiency that can be corrected with supplementation!. So it is totally curable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Treatment depends on the type of rickets your child has!.!.!.!.Nutritional rickets is treated with vitamin D and calcium, and often improvements occur within a few weeks of treatment!.!.!.!. If your child has inherited rickets or has an illness causing the problem, you may need to see a doctor who specializes in rickets!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
