Mobic is prescription med for either osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis!. Didn't the doctor talk to you/your husband about this!? You two are young!.!.!.!.we are in our 50's and have found it helpful to stay with each other in the exam rooms!. You can look up the medicine on line, but it's basically an NSAID (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug) like naproxen, which is over-the counter!.
He is pretty young to have osteoarthritis (the one that comes with old joints wearing out)!. Did the doctor order a special test for your man called an ANA (Anti-Nuclear Antibodies)!? This test can help a doctor to determine if your husband has rheumatoid arthritis or lupus!. Since the Mobic takes the edge off the pain, see what strength it is (it comes in 7!.5 mg or 15 mg--15 mg once a day is the most he should take)!. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and there are nights where the ache in my hips wakes me up and makes me nauseaous!. Does the pain stay in his low back or does it travel down his leg!? Has he had an MRI to see if he has a herniated disc!? I wouldn't go to the ER for this, Marcelle, but I would schedule an appt with your primary physician as soon as possible!. I am disabled permanently from disc problems, and your man is too young for that, honey!. Until you can get him to the doctor, try these things: heat or ice (whichever feels better to him); a long soak in a hot bathtub; one of those heat-activated back wraps; lying in bed on his "good" side with a pillow tucked between his knees to support the hip joint of the "bad" side; lying in bed on his back with pillows (probably two) tucked under the lower half of his buttocks, his knees, and one under his feet!. Also surf for stretching exercises he can do for lower back pain!. He should start slowly with these, but do some before he starts work, a few during breaks, when he gets home and before bed!. Print this out to take with you---it sounds like your husband, you, and your physician need to talk to each other better!. I'm progressivefarmer@yahoo---send me a note and let me know what's going on!. Hang in there---here, take this energy and use it to help his pain and to recharge you!. Be tough with your doc--you pay good money to pay him!.!.!.!.get some answers, okay!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

They have an amazing tool called the Symptom Checker!. What it does is this!. You locate a region on the body that the pain is occurring and the Symptom Checker will give you some ideas (or ask you questions to further the ideal diagnosis)!.
I would use this site before taking him the the Emergency Room and take notes from the site to talk with the ER doctor!. I have posted the direct link to the Symptom Checker below!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
