Question: Do you have a pet that predicts when your having a low blood sugar!?
I have heard many stories about pets that do this and wonder what kind of pets do it, is it only dogs!? How do they let you know!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, but I have a cat that predicts when I am going to have to get up and clean up cat vomit!. LOL!
Seriously, it is primarily dogs, because they have the combination of natural senses to know and intelligence to be trained to let you know!. They are trained in different ways, usually some form of barking or pointing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My two cats actually follows me around when my sugars go out of whack!. If they're getting too high, they won't let me leave their sight, and my dog T-Wolf, a humongous malamute mix, actually would not let me get up the first time i passed out from high blood sugars!. He layed across my chest and wouldn't let me get up!. Mom he howled through the house but wouldn't go to her!. that's how she found me!. This was all before I found out about being diabetic!. If they get low, one cat will constantly meow from the kitchen while the other one doesn't let me out of his sight!. I love my babies! Kitties for low, puppy for high!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

On night, he pump alarm sounded and she didn't wake up!.I was sound asleep!.I think she was about 10-11 then!.
Our cat started screaming at her and touching her face till she woke up!.
She came to me to ask what to do and I didn't wake up!.
She called the number on the back of the pump and they walked her through fixing the problem late at night!. Our cat stayed with her the whole time !Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes I do, and she had predicted not only low blood sugars but also my and my husbands heart attacks!. She is a rat terrier / chihuaha cross!. Her daddy was just like her and he even predicted when my daughter lost her baby!. don't laugh but our doctor knows when we call and say the "dog says we are sick" that he better get us in right away!. She has never been wrong! This dog (Julia Rose) is a godsend! God Bless her furry heart!Www@Answer-Health@Com
I used to have a dachshund (dog) that did!.!.!.it's nothing very magical, it's just that dogs are incredibly tuned in to things we aren't!.!.!.their senses are sharper!. When you go low, you body may start to twitch a bit or you'll get clammy!. That's what they respond to, they know something's wrong, and they'll nudge you awake!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i know they have dogs now trained to predict many things in relation to health matter outside of been guide dogs but i am not to sure if they have ones that will predict hypos i did hear some time years back that they were going to give it a try doeWww@Answer-Health@Com

Some dogs can sniff out cancers from the lungs in their early stages In the same way there are pets that can sniff out diabetics and also lower blood sugars All these are in the experimental stages yet!.

no but my mother is convinced that my dog can!.
if he starts to make weird noises at me she makes me test my blood sugar,
and surprise surprise its usually fine!

not sure about blood sugar------but i have a cocker spaniel---she knows when i feel bad --or sick---she wants to comfort me--stick by my side---won't leave me for a secondWww@Answer-Health@Com
