Question: Girlfriend hasn't been telling me when she has outbreaks and we had sex!?
I really don't understand!.!.!. I've been so understanding and been with my girlfriend for just about 1 year!. She has genital herpes and I do not!.!.!.!. and she has been telling me that she really doesn't get outbreaks often!. She hasn't mentioned it to me once in the past 6 months!. She just told me 5 minutes ago on the phone that she told her GYN that she gets them about once a month!.!.!. meanwhile we have had sex during those times and she didn't say a word!.!.!. I don't even know how to feel!.!. If I contract it then I contract it!.!.!.!. I love her, but I'm not going to try to get it on purpose ya know!? jeeze She's so nonchalant about everything too!.!.!. It wasn't until today that she knew that she needed to take her valtrex once a day!.!.!. meanwhile I thought she had it under control!.!.!. I'm speechlessWww@Answer-Health@Com

You do need to talk to your girlfriend!. She is being irresponsible and putting you at risk!. Tell her that you love her and you understand, but that you still have a choice and that it's not fair she's taking that choice from you by not being honest about how often she has outbreaks!.
You need to educate yourself about the disease because -
1!.) It's the smart and mature thing to do!.
2!.) You need to know as much about HSV as you possibly can so that you can make an informed and educated decision about being sexually active, and

She and you both need to go get tested and there is no symtoms until later on in life!. It takes effect later no sudden symtoms!. It actually is something that happens to many people but it is a danger!. Just don't let the condom break is all i have to say!. If it does your screwed!. If I were you, I would 1!. STOP having unprotected sex with her, including ALL oral sex and 2!. go to your doctor and have a blood test!.
You can carry Herpes in your blood and never have an outbreak on your genitals!. You'd have it and not know it and then give it to some other poor girl!.
YOu should know that the CDC says 25% of girls 18-30 have herpes now!.
You need to be blunt with her, she shouldn't be doing this!.
You both need to be educated on how herpes spreads, etc!. Even Wikipedia has good info!.
