Will antiseptic mouth wash neutralize toxoplasmosis?!
Question: Will antiseptic mouth wash neutralize toxoplasmosis!?
I believe there may be toxoplasmosis gondii on my retainers that fell on the floor, in an area frequented by my cat who I recently witnessed eating a rodent!. As such, I'm very apprehensive about putting the retainers back in my mouth!. On wikipedia, it says that not even bleach will neutralize the T!. gondii parasite, and that only boiling water can, however, boiling water would melt my retainers!. I let my retainers sit in antiseptic mouth wash for a half hour, then washed them in hot water from the faucet for a around ten minutes, and then a half hour of cold faucet water!. I repeated this routine three times!. Is this enough, and will it have neutralized the parasite!?
In addition, is the hot water from a faucet hot enough to abrade or melt the plastic in the retainers, even slightly!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
