Why is it that skin damage is equated with beauty?!

Question: Why is it that skin damage is equated with beauty!?
Yes,I am talking about a tan!.
I am a REALLY pale strawberry blonde and figure that is the way nature intended me to be!.Beauty really comes in all colors! I am 42 with no wrinkles yet because I have stayed out of the sun as much as I can!.I wear a sunscreen with SPF 45 when I garden or go to the beach!.
Also, and much more importantly to remember,is that 2 of my relatives who have been sun worshippers now have skin cancer!:-(Www@Answer-Health@Com

Having had skin cancer I do not look at a girl/woman with a tan and think she looks great - sure a tan is nice but it's so bad for you I see a girl running out of a tanning salon and hope for the best for her - the sun/and sun damage may age you faster but it can also kill you!!

You are wise - and it's great bits of advice!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Who cares about if you have a tan!? I wouldn't personally find any wrinkled, worn women attractive, especially if they tried to be beautiful!. True beauty comes from the inside!. You are still young, don't ruin your skin by tanning it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder!. Nothing is beautiful to me about a tanned wrinkled woman with leather for skin and who will someday undergo treatment for skin cancer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because years of warning us that it gives us cancer didn't seem to stop people going out and sunbathing and getting burned so they tried to appeal to our vanity instead - and it seems to be working better than the previous approachWww@Answer-Health@Com

Well you need vitam D plus a good tan isn't bad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
