Answers:
If your scoliosis isn't bothering you, why do you want to do something to your back!? Treatment of scoliosis is based on the type of scoliosis, severity of the curve, and chances of the curve getting worse!. There are three main categories of treatment: observation, bracing, and surgery!.

The treatment you describe sounds like a chiropractor or PT!.

Re: chiropractor
I don't trust chiropractors, had my back manipulated once or twice, it hurt worse after they were done with it!. As a nurse, I've also cared for a few patients who required surgery after seeing a chiropractor because the chiropractor actually caused nerve damage!. You need to see a spine specialist, either neurosurgeon or an orthopedic surgeon!.

Re: PT
Patients with low back pain/dysfunction must see their physician for diagnostic procedures!. Following the appropriate medical work-up and then a PT evaluation, each patient can be placed on an appropriate PT program!.

Phase 1 focuses on education, posture, and flexibility to decrease pain!. Phase 2 emphasizes strength and fitness activities to improve function!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're not going to get permanent correction for idiopathic scoliosis (structural, cause unknown) by just pressing on the lower back!. Your spine as grown curved!. Pressing on the lower back won't do a single thing to change that fact!!!

I doubt that the technique you mentioned would even work on functional scoliosis (caused by something else such as uneven leg length; fixing the underlying cause also fixes the scoliosis)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
