Oily skin after use of tretinoin?!


Question: Oily skin after use of tretinoin!?
Before i go to sleep i apply tretinoin to my skin for my acne!. every time i wake up, my skin is really oily!. this only happens when i use tretinoin before i go to sleep!. is this normal!? and is it okay to use tretinoin on other parts of the body such as the back and chest!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

This would be very unusual -- tretinoin usually causes skin to be more dry --> some peeling, flaking, and irritation can be common!. It's not something to worry about as long as the "oiliness" is removed with washing!. Your skin just probably appears more "shiny" because of the exfoliation that tretinoin provides!.

You can use tretinoin on your back and chest -- but this is not common because it will require a lot, and you will run out of the prescription before it's available for refill!.

If you have acne on your back and chest in addition to your face, then you need to discuss this with your doctor/dermatologist and consider Accutane or antibiotics!. A systemic approach (rather than a topical treatment) will be more effective since your acne is not limited to just your face!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
