2nd problem: My speech seems to be getting worse!. This could be due to the memory thing!. I have trouble remebering simple words, e!.g!. house, fire, car, something so simple and when i say a sentence it could come out completely backwards or with the word in the wrong place!. I don't know if it's because of the medication i'm on, i take Topamax and Tegratol for my eplilepsy!.

Dysfunctional memory is related to both the epilepsy and to the medications!. I have been on Dilantin for 30 years and short term memory loss is related to long term use of Dilantin!. When I have trouble with my speech, I have found that my medication levels are usually toxic and I have to cut back for a period of time!. That's always been a sign for me that something is wrong, I can't seem to get my words out right, and my balance is off a little, and it's usually related to a high Dilantin level!. Your medications might be able to be changed to lessen the symptoms that are bothering you!. I guess that is what is beginning to worry me after all these years!.!.!.!.how long am I going to have a brain to work with!? Long term changes on the brain itself are due to the condition and the medication necessary to treat it!. I find that just trying to focus helps, and any memory cues that I come across I use, to study for instance, I use!.!.!.read it, write it, say it, to help process what I am studying!.!.!.!.trying to get my Master's!.
